New coating generation: Composite coatings – the enhanced metal coatings technology.
Composite coatings have actually been in use for some time, but in this country are still relatively new and only recently have different branches of Israeli industry become more aware of their inherent advantages.
Interplate performs unique developments, tailored specifically for the needs of the client, and is ready to produce any kind of metal coating. The client is not required to adapt the product to existing solutions; the coatings are developed according to client’ needs and product specifications.
This spirit of innovation, creativity and flexibility that characterize the company, along with the needs of industrial customers are what led Interplate to engage in research and development of composite coatings for its customers.
So what are composite coatings?
These are metal coatings with enhanced features. Regular engineering coatings are enhanced by the co-deposition of nonmetallic particles into a metal coated matrix that significantly improve product features, such as high heat conduction, protection against wear, low friction coefficient and more.
Excellent Returns on Investment
The end results are extended product life and improved performance. For example, if a regular coating can last two years composite coating can last for up to 10 years.
Although this process is at a higher cost, in the long run the investment pays off:
- An improved product leads to greater savings on end-product performance.
- An improved product leads to greater savings on maintenance and safety.
- A more durable product leads to greater savings on wear and tear and safety.
A few of the industries that are reaping benefits with use of composite coatings include:
Industrial machine manufacturing – composite coatings improve the end product’s features and make for lean, clean and efficient machines which in turn allow for smooth production runs while lowering maintenance and production costs – all benefits that are passed onto the customer.
Automotive industry – improved sensors that don’t get dirty, gear components with low friction level and more – these are some of the components of the finished product by Interplate allowing for overall savings in oil, energy and production costs.
